My Overall Top Pick: JAWZ High Performance Blender, 64 Oz Professional Grade Countertop Blender

This blender made my top pick for a number of reasons. The main two things that pushed this blender over the top are pretty simple.

The first is that this blender offers a very powerful motor. That’s great for working with nuts and seeds because more powerful motors are less likely to get stressed when they’re working with solid ingredients.

The second reason is that this blender has a wide base. Wider bases are important when you’re working with nuts and seeds since it will help keep the blender more stable while it’s working.

A stable blender is a safe blender. It’s really that critical.

This blender is also incredibly easy to use with a simple speed dial. Ease of use is one of the most important features when it comes to blenders for me, so I was really happy to see a consumer-driven design that offers a speed dial along with the other features I needed in a nuts and seeds blender.

The large blender jar and effective blade design both make this blender a great option for blending nuts and seeds, especially nuts. That’s because recipes that call for nuts will require a lot of nuts to get a good amount of finished food. This large jar allows you to start with larger batches and ultimately saves you time.

All these features together made this easily one of the best blenders for nuts and seeds.

What are the Advantages of High-Quality Blenders for Nuts and Seeds?

A lot of people want to use a relatively cheap or affordable blender when they first start blending with nuts and seeds. Some will even attempt to use a food processor or a hybrid machine.

The problem with both of those solutions is that the motors on those appliances are likely to burn out a lot faster than blenders with a better motor and more efficient blender design.

Switching to a high end blender will save money over time because the blender will just last a lot longer. I also tend to prefer high-end blenders because they are usually bigger than cheaper alternatives, and allows you to save time by blending in larger batches.

High-end blenders also tend to take less time to get the same blending results because of more efficient blade and jar design. When it comes to nuts and seeds, that means you’ll be able to make your favorite nut butters, sauces, and nut and seed flours that much faster.

Not sure how to blend nuts at home? This video shows you how to make nut butter at home, but it’s also a great primer for working with nuts and seeds in your blender.

Saving time is really important to me with nuts and seeds because they can be some of the most time-consuming ingredients to blend thoroughly.

Lastly, high-end blenders also tend to have better and more varied replaceable parts than cheaper blenders. This is also really important for nuts and seeds because nuts and seeds will generally dull blades faster.

You can even damage your blender jar a lot faster with these ingredients because they can essentially sand-blast the inside of the jar while you’re blending.

How to Pick the Best Blenders for Nuts and Seeds?

There are a lot of variables to consider when you’re looking for a great blender for nuts and seeds. I’m only going to include the most important traits in a nuts and seeds blender here, so feel free to consider others if there are other features or traits that you’re looking for in your next blender.

Blender Size

One of the most important things to consider for blending nuts and seeds is the size of the blender jar.

Nuts can be pretty bulky and take up a lot of space before you start blending. There are so many types of large seeds that your recipe may require that will take up a lot of blender space.

That’s why I tend to prefer large blenders for these ingredients. A large blender offers a lot more space for blending, and allows you make larger batches of whatever food you’re preparing.

Instead of making a lot of small batches of almond butter, for instance, having a larger blender allows me make a large batch that lasts for quite a while.

Motor Power

Of all the traits of a blender for nuts and seeds, motor power is probably one of the most important.

When I’m looking at getting a blender that can handle nuts and seeds I start looking at blenders with 1,000+ watt motors. That’s the power and torque threshold that tends to hold up well when blending difficult ingredients regularly.

While nuts and seeds usually break down into smaller particles relatively quickly, it doesn’t matter if your motor is overwhelmed and overloaded in the first burst of blending.

Accessories You Need

When it comes to nuts and seeds I have a strong preference for blenders that are compatible with a tamper. Having a tamper makes blending nuts and seeds a lot faster and easier. It also ensures that your finished product has a consistent texture.

Speaking of making nut milks, here’s what you need to know about the nutrition of nut milks.

I also appreciate it when blenders come with a second set of blades. Having a second blade saves me money when my initial blade starts to dull from blending nuts and seeds.

For the same reason, I look for blenders that have durable stainless steel blades.

I also like blenders that come with smaller smoothie sized cups because they are useful for times when I only need a couple of tablespoons of an ingredient. For instance, I love using smoothie cups when I only need a little coconut flour or almond flour for a recipe.

My Reviews of the Best Blenders for Nuts and Seeds

1. JAWZ High Performance Blender, 64 Oz Professional Grade Countertop Blender

Let’s dig into the details of this blender.

To start with, it comes with a large 64 oz blender jar. That’s not the largest jar on this list, but it’s one of the bigger options.

This size works well overall and is a good match for the motor power Jawz engineered in this design.

With its vortex blade technology, this blender also has some of the best blender stirring capability. Its unique technology helps keep ingredients moving and turning over inside of the blender jar.

I also really like that this blender is simple to use.

The button configuration is highly intuitive and it’s easy to get started. Jawz might not offer a lot of specialized blending modes with this blender, but you can re-create almost any blending cycle using the simple combination of buttons and speed dial.

PROS (+)CONS (-)
+ Simple, easy to use design
+ Durable components
+ Powerful Motor
+ Large Jar design
+ Incredibly stable
– Manufacturing oil can cause a burning smell the first few uses

2. Vitamix A2300 Ascent Series Smart Blender

Vitamix is kind of the standard everyone wants to live up to when it comes to high power professional quality blenders.

There’s a reason they have the kind of reputation they do, and the Ascent series is a great example.

This blender is actually one of the more moderately priced models in Vitamix’s line. It’s not their most affordable blender, but it’s far from being the most expensive.

I love this model for my high-end pick because you get the quality Vitamix is known for, but without paying professional restaurant prices.

Similar to the Jawz blender, the Ascent has a very wide and stable base. Like all Vitamix blenders this model comes with a very powerful and efficient motor as a standard part of the blender.

It also has an easy to use speed dial that gives you a lot of control and a similarly large 64 oz blender jar.

For all the similarities, this is my high-end pick because you can expect this blender to last a bit longer than the other blenders on this list, without sacrificing any functionality of the blender.

This blender can also handle being challenged in blending a little more often than the other blenders on this list, making it a great option for vegetarians, vegans, and even people who like to eat a lot of Indian and Ethiopian foods.

This blender can handle a lot of use, and is no stranger to making rare ingredients from scratch, no matter how challenging.

PROS (+)CONS (-)
+ Incredibly durable design
+ Glass jar
+ Long-lasting Motor
+ Great for frequent blending households
+ Very consistent performance
– A little more expensive than most blenders

3. NutriBullet ZNBF30400Z Blender 1200 Watts

Normally for my budget pick I like to look for a product that’s a good bit more affordable than my top pick product.

I get that people are often working on a budget and still want to be able to cook amazing food at home.

That’s great! I want to support budget cooks as much as possible.

Which is also why I couldn’t choose a signficantly more affordable blender for this list. This model is a tiny bit more affordable than the other options on my list, but only by a small margin.

Why? Because nuts and seeds are really difficult ingredients for most blenders to work with and if I recommended a model that was a lot more affordable I’d be worried about it experiencing motor failure long before it should.

That said, this model is a great option if you’re looking for an affordable, powerful, and versatile blender. It has 1200 watts of power in the motor which is plenty to work with nuts and seeds regularly.

The speed options are relatively basic, but extremely effective.

I also appreciate that this model comes with an additional personal smoothie blender because that adds for the overall flexibility and versatility of this model.

However, I will note that the smoothie blender needs a separate base (also included) which will take up a little more storage space in your kitchen than models that only use one blender base.

PROS (+)CONS (-)
+ Simple button design
+ Powerful enough to make flours and nut butters
+ Easy to get all of your food out of the blender
+ Tamper compatible
+ Durable
– Needs more storage space because of two separate bases
-Loud operation

4. Nutri Ninja Personal and Countertop Blender with 1200-Watt Auto-iQ Base

Ninja is a brand that’s a little different when it comes to blenders, but their unique blade design works really well for nuts.

This blender perhaps isn’t as good of an option if you’re mostly looking to be able to make seed flours at home because it’s not as great for very small ingredients.

That said, the smoothie cups that come with this blender are a great feature, which is why this is the Ninja model on my list.

This is also one of the most complete blender sets available, so I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a professional quality blender with all the accessories in one package.

This blender also offers one of the biggest jars in the business. Its 72 oz jar is perfect for people with big families who need to be able to prepare ingredients and even whole meals in large batches.

PROS (+)CONS (-)
+ Largest jar
+ Lots of blending options
+ Several smoothie jars included
+ Advanced blender design
+ Powerful motor for faster blending
– Different blade configuration can take some getting used to
– Blades take up more jar space than other blenders

5. Instant Ace Nova Cooking Blender

This blender is a little different from the other blenders on this list because it has an internal heating device that’s designed to either cook your food while you blend, or to keep your food warm after blending.

This feature tends to come up a little less often when you’re working with nuts and seeds than with other ingredients, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an important option.

This design is great for bringing out the flavor in some nuts and seeds. It works well for recipes that require toasted ingredients, or anytime you want to cook things while you blend.

I also really like this blender as a good all-purpose cooking blender that can also handle nuts and seeds. It isn’t quite as specialized as a blender as I would prefer, but it’s a reasonable option for moderate nuts and seeds blending.

PROS (+)CONS (-)
+ Has an internal cooking element
+ Great for recipes that need heat
+ Powerful blade system
+ Lots of blending settings
+ Easy to use
– Lid will occasionally leak

My Top Pick: JAWZ High Performance Blender, 64 Oz Professional Grade Countertop Blender

Overall, of all the blenders on my list, this model offers the best combination of power and features, all at the best price.

If you’re a constant blender or someone who uses your blender every day it might be worth upgrading to the Vitamix model, but this design is great for more average use.

This model is great for people who use a lot of nuts and seeds in their cooking because of its durability and high power design. I also love the added stability of the larger base.

Final Thoughts On The Best Blenders for Nuts and Seeds

Cooking with nuts and seeds can be an adventure all on its own, whether you’re just looking to add a little more protein and fat to a carb-heavy recipe or are mixing your own gluten-free flour.

Just remember that you need a little more power and space when you’re working with nuts in particular, and you’ll probably be good.

Now, happy blending!
